Education Blogging - 3 Great Finds!

This is an exciting new journey for me as I enter the blogging world! It's a shame that I've wasted so much time getting on board - there are so many resources to be found! I have even started creating blogs on different topics - you should find on this particular blog information on Instructional Design and using technology in the classroom. Here are some interesting blogs that I've started following:

 The ELearning Coach
http://theelearningcoach.com/

This blog has an easy to use format and great articles for those new to instructional design (like myself!). Here I found some great posts offering advice on how to really connect with your e-learner. I particularly enjoyed the post describing how to create an effective, appealing PowerPoint as I had recently created one – and wish I’d seen this before! http://theelearningcoach.com/media/graphics/powerpoint-makeover/

The Rapid E-Learning Blog
http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/

Tom (the writer) describes his blog as one that offers practical, real-world tips for e-learning success. For posts on Instructional Design click on the tab on the left, which leads to this page:  http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning/instructional-design/. Again, I found this very useful as someone new to the field of Instructional Design. ‘What Everybody Ought to Know About Instructional Design’ was a great read for me as it tells you just that…simple, useful advice for the instructional designer. Most of his articles focus on the learner -what they need and how to motivate them.

Fred Koch / K-8 Technology Coach
http://fredkoch.edublogs.org/

The writer, Fred, shares his experiences on his blog about how teachers incorporate technology into the classroom-learning environment. I find his posts to be interesting and thought provoking as he challenges you to explore the extent of how much you as a classroom teacher incorporate technology into your classroom. Not only does he share his thoughts and experiences, but he also shares great blogs and articles that he has explored in his monthly ‘Delicious Highlights’. Definitely worth checking out if you, like me, are striving to reach your children with the latest technology to keep your classroom up-to-date and appealing to a new generation of learners.
